William H. Miller, Jr. graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in 1957 and from Princeton University in 1961. After a tour of duty as an officer on a destroyer in the U.S. Navy, he graduated from Syracuse University College of Law in 1966 and has practiced trusts and estates law ever since. He joined the firm in 2001. He also maintains a firm office in Darien, Connecticut. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York and before the U.S. Tax Court.
Mr. Miller enjoys athletics – sailing, tennis, ice hockey and skiing. He coached youth hockey for many years and played regularly in the Darien men's hockey league. As a sailor he participated in large and small boat racing along the East Coast and in off-shore ocean races, including five Newport to Bermuda races. He and his wife have sailed with friends in the Baltic, Canada, British Virgin Islands, Corsica, Sardinia and Turkey. He also enjoys skiing and hiking in the Rocky Mountains whenever possible.
He has served on numerous local boards including the Norwalk Yacht Club, Wilson Point Property Owners' Association, and the U.S. Sailing Training Committee. He is the past vice-chairman of Greens Farm Academy and past president of the Junior Sailing Association of Long Island Sound.
